On Saturday we held our PL Christmas Fair. Thank you to all staff, students, parents, carers and everyone in our local community who took the time to pop in and join in the fun.
Many students and teachers worked tirelessly during break, lunchtimes and after school to prepare for the fair, and on the day we had a good mixture of student stalls and local businesses selling Christmas Arts and Crafts.
Our Art Department wowed with beautiful calendars, tags and cards, and our hot chocolate, marshmallow and skooshy cream was just as big a hit as last year.
Other highlights include our School Choir, who entertained with lovely background music, while visitors browsed the stalls, and no school event is complete without our fantastic PL Pipe Band, who kindly opened the event. The Reindeer Game was a lot of fun and, of course, the wee ones loved our fabulous Santa’s Grotto. Thank you the Santas!
Students in our HE department designed and decorated Christmas boxes, while CDT students were able to demonstrate our new laser cutter in action, and were delighted to have taken orders for their fabulous customised Christmas decorations.
We have a lot of work to do now fulfilling the orders taken at the fair. However, we are delighted to announce that we will be launching our new online school shop on the Friends of Preston Lodge Website soon. More news on this to follow. Stay tuned!
We would also like to thank Longniddry and District Rotary Club who ran the Tombola for us and all the staff, teachers, parents and carers who helped out on the day by joining one of the volunteer rotas.
Mrs Robertson, as always, runs a fantastic raffle – thank you! I’m delighted to confirm that the fundraising total for the event was £1464.24, which will be used for school events and activities.
What a great community we have. Thank you so much for coming along and supporting our young people.
Wishing you all a wonderful festive season.
